COVID-19 Update: May 01, 2020

Hello ECDC Families,

Just a quick note here to keep you updated. On Monday, May 4, Governor Brown plans to release a draft of a reopening plan for the state. The Board will be looking at this plan to see how it informs our next steps and our own plan to reopen. We will meet on Tuesday May 5 to discuss this and will send another communication after that meeting. We realize that not having solid answers to plan your future is extremely difficult. Thank you for your continued patience and support while we navigate the Center through this time.

One thing that will help us plan the future of the Center is feedback from you, the families that we serve. Elaine will be reaching out to each family next week to collect your thoughts and feelings regarding reopening.

Lastly, next week is teacher appreciation week! Since we can’t celebrate in our normal fashion right now, one of our board members, Molly Lucas, has coordinated an online sign-up sheet with Elaine for families to drop off goodies at the Center. Elaine will be coordinating the distribution of these items to the staff. The Board thought this would be a great way to boost staff morale and let them know we are still thinking of them. If you feel so inclined, please sign up here!

Thank you all. Please continue to stay safe and healthy. We will be in touch again next week.
