Eugene CDC Update: November 2, 2020
Dear ECDC Families,
We hope that you are all well! The Board is still currently looking for a parent volunteer to serve as Treasurer. The commitment would be to one year as Treasurer, and an additional year as a Board member at large, for two years total. As a general rule, all board seats are for two-year terms at least, and all officer positions are one-year commitments. Special perk—our former Treasurer of four years is still open to and available for questions/training! If you are interested in the financial health and well-being of the Center, and in keeping it going, please reach out to Elaine.
We are so happy to be serving families and taking care of your wonderful kiddos, but with enrollment low, finances continue to be especially tight. Recent events have made our finances even tighter: the Center’s washer and dryer had to be replaced; the wind and rain in September took out both of our recently purchased canopies, used for shelter on the playgrounds; and lastly we will need to replace the fence on the Toddler playground, adjacent to the parking lot very soon, before it completely falls over (special shout out to Matilda’s dad Dale for the temporary but impressive quick-fix!). If you or someone you know is willing and able to make a tax-deductible donation to the Center, please fill out the attached ACH form for the month of November.
We are sad to say that we will not be able to host our annual Winter Concert. We are currently looking for a way to host the auction online in order to help fundraise. If you know of any good online auction platforms, please let us know! We are also starting our collection of funds for the staff’s holiday bonus. Board Secretary Molly Lucas has volunteered to head up that collection this year via PayPal.
President of the Board
